GS Council has new set of officers

July was a very hectic month for Diliman Prep Grade School students. Within the first ten days of the month, students were busy with the student council campaign and elections. On July 5 and 6, candidates from two parties, GOAL (Goal Outcome of Achieving Leaders) and AKMADI (Akbayan ng mga Mag-aaral ng Diliman), campaigned room-to-room, delivering speeches to convince their schoolmates to vote for them.

A  Miting de Avance on July 7 preceded GS Council Election in the afternoon. For the first time, just like the National Elections in May, the GS election was computerized using a software developed by our new computer teacher Mr. Ronald Pecundo, under the direct supervision of  Mrs. Elsa Nava, the Subject Area Coordinator (SAC) in Computer with the help of GS computer teachers.

The election was a success and would not have been possible without the concerted efforts of all the teachers. The GS Council is moderated by Mrs. Marlene Salao (Intermediate level) and Mrs. Mary Grace Delgado (Primary level).

Primary students can now join clubs

With the student council elections completed, students veered their attention to studying and selecting the clubs of their choice.  In previous years, Grade School Clubs were only offered to intermediate level.  This year, the clubs were also opened to members from the primary level to enrich their academic lives as well as develop the  social skills and leadership of the children. A total of 12 clubs (various levels for Computer, Little Chefs 1-2-3, Arts & Crafts 1-2, Book Lovers 1-2, Dance 1-2, and Primary Chorale) were offered for primary and 17 (English Zealots, Elite Science, Math, Herodotus, Piling Lipi, Music, Arts, HELE, Practical Arts, Computer, Robotics,  Dramatics, Book Lovers, Junior Blue View, Frisbee, and Dance) for the intermediate students.
