DPS Applies for PAASCU
As a learning institution striving for excellence , the Diliman Preparatory School now undergoes the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities (PAASCU) accreditation procedures and prepares for the preliminary school visit by seven heads of different private schools and one secretariat of PAASCU scheduled early next year.
The accreditors will go around the campus for two days to observe classes and the entire school and its system. The visit is basically part of the process for them to see what and how well the school is doing physically, socially, and most importantly, academically.
“We strive for excellence in all aspects not only for the accreditation purposes but also to produce dynamic students who excel: said Mrs. Lycette B. Ventura, DPS executive director and a licensed PAASCU accrediting officer. “It is a great honor and privilege to be accredited by this prestigious organization, : she added.

WBL for Key School Personnel, WBL for ALL!
A few days before the opening of SY 2010, academic officers, department managers, and faculty set aside time for some serious study on their own.
Led by President Nikki Coseteng, key school personnel underwent a most revealing workshop on Whole- Brain Thinking and Learning (WBL), under the supervision of Prof. Cecile B. Manikan of the Asian Institute of Management, who conducted the training work shop last May 30, June 12- 14 2010. “The more interesting the information is to the learner, the easier it is likely to be learned,” she added.
The workshops provide knowledge for the participants to better understand how and why the brain works as it does when subjected to a variety of stimuli, as well as the psychological factors that affect learning. Thus, participants are able to look at the learning strategies and programs of Diliman Prep from a much deeper perspective.
Yet, a critical aspect of the training was the chance to personally analyze one’s own personal way of perceiving things , ideas, relationships, preferred careers and jobs. Thus, the training was a rediscovery of one self.
In conclusion, this new understanding should be able to help build a formidable team that will push Diliman Prep into heights and boundaries beyond standard educational norms, to soar and become the leading catalyst to change the world of education.
