Grade School

Diliman Preparatory School continues to improve and update its curriculum to better prepare students for a more challenging and competitive world. This is over and above the mandate of DepEd as stipulated in the Philippine Elementary Learning Competencies (PELC). Grade One to Grade Six students are exposed to different academic subjects and co-curricular activities to ensure their holistic development while strengthening school and home partnership.

The teaching of Civics and Culture, Music, Arts and Physical Education are given more emphasis and are taught as independent subjects instead of the traditional approach of lumping them all under one subject.

The Grade School Department has adopted the research and project based curriculum, and development of social, entrepreneurial & leadership skills thereby bringing out the “genius in every child”.

The English Proficiency Intervention Program (EPIP) was added to the English subject to better train the students to speak the language with fluency, confidence and correct grammar. Students are also trained with a higher level of IT proficiency and web-based skills like animation using flash and other programming languages that will be useful in the competitive world of work.

Instructional Materials and Equipment

Through the initiative and creative efforts exerted by the grade school faculty, new instructional equipment were purchased like LCD projectors, TV sets, microphones, and the latest illuminating microscopes. Relevant and useful instructional materials are regularly purchased to meet the growing demands of uplifting the teaching-learning process.
